How your Buddy remembers you
A peek at the memory loop under the hood.
Memory in AI is a spectrum, not a switch. Here's how SmartBuddy handles it — from "just heard this one thing" to "learned your patterns over a year."
Three layers
- Conversation — everything in the current thread. Standard; every chatbot has this.
- Session memory — refreshed each time you return after a while. Summarises what happened last time so you don't repeat yourself.
- Long-term memory — a growing model of you: interests, projects, people, preferences, patterns.
Together they compose into a single continuous voice. You don't feel the seams.
Growing sharper
Your Buddy has a built-in learning loop: after complex or repeated tasks, it saves what worked. Next time the same shape of task comes up, it happens faster and cleaner.
Weeks in, the difference is noticeable.
The best test of a good Buddy is asking it something you asked six months ago — and getting a smarter answer this time.
Private by design
Your memory is yours. Each Buddy runs in its own isolated space — not shared with other users, not visible to us. Terminate the Buddy from its card in the app, and the memory is deleted with it.
Nudge it, don't fight it
If your Buddy has a wrong impression, just tell it: "actually, I don't drink coffee anymore." It updates. This is the point — you don't need to configure settings; you talk.
